What tools are the must have tools you recommend most for beginners?
You can start with basic tools like handsaws, jig saw and a drill and lots of sandpaper from course to fine. Rattle can paint works just fine for starters. Some of my first builds were done with rattle can paint. You can do some really decent looking paint jobs with a little practice with rattle cans and they are cheap.
What is your favorite type of fishing rod and reel?
All depends on what I’ m fishing for. My favorite would be my St. Croix 7ā€ with a 400 Stradic spinning reel I have had for years. Great for small trout lures and also a good freshwater throwing trick worms and flukes.
What is your price range for custom baits?
The small resin cast I can sell around the $ 10 to $ 20 dollar price range. The large hand carved wooden lures will have a lot of time tied up in the build and quite a bit more involved with the artwork. They will be more but will depend on the build. You really have to be a builder to truly appreciate the time and work involved with custom builds.
