How many custom baits do you usually paint in a year? I ' ve lost track, honestly. But it ' s probably somewhere in the thousands.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out custom painting lures? One thing I learned is to absolutely do your research. Ask more experienced people what they ' re using, what you need, how to do it etc. There will be lots of trial and error, trying to find your own way of doing things, figuring out what works for you and what doesn ' t. I also can ' t stress enough how much practice is important. You will find yourself constantly evolving and changing year to year. You can ' t get better if you don ' t practice, so once you think you ' ve done enough, keep going!
What airbrush would you recommend a beginner? For airbrushing you will be advised time and time again to not go cheap when it comes to your gun. It is the bread and butter behind what you will be doing, other than you as the artist yourself. I would suggest an Iwata, but to steer clear of anything under $ 80, and I would highly advise anyone to never even think about purchasing the NEO, as it ' s made by an outside company and will have you pulling your hair out; trust me on this one.
