Where are you from and where do you currently reside? I was born in North Conway, NH but I spent most of my life in Brownfield, ME. I currently live in Nashua, NH.
How did you start fishing? Probably the same way most people did I ' d guess. My father took me fishing when I was young and got me hooked. I have a picture of me somewhere sitting in his lap at a very young age( 2-3 years old) holding a fishing rod. I guess I ' ve been fishing ever since!
Anyone else into fishing or custom making baits in your family? Most of my family knows how to fish and has fished at some point, but I can ' t say that any of them are as addicted or hardcore about it as I am. No one else in my family is in the fishing / lure making business either.
What type of game fish do you target? I grew up a trout fisher, and to this day I still love nothing more than going after Native Brookies or big Bows. In recent years however I have developed a fondness for bass, preferably LMB. I also may be one of the few people that really enjoys catching a big pickerel too.
What is the biggest game fish you ' ve caught? It ' s really hard to say, for a long time I never weighed or measured anything I caught. I ' ve actually only started weighing fish within the past couple of years. However to date since starting to use a scale my biggest bass has been 5.5lbs, and my biggest fish overall would have to be a 6lb common white sucker that I caught on a chatter bait early spring of 2015. Some other random & honorable mentions would have to be a 4lb Fall Fish I caught in a dried up river 4-5 years ago and a slew of pickerel the size of my arm... not that I ' m a very big person LOL.
Who are some of your favorite lure builders or custom painters? This is a really tough question for me to answer, because I like so many of them! As far as painters go, I am a big fan of Phil Jarog from Get Bit Custom Baits. He has a Neon Bluegill pattern that I am absolutely obsessed with, and he can paint just about anything and make it look awesome. He is also a super nice guy, and has helped me out when I ' ve needed it. Some close runner-ups would be Michael Orensteen from Lure Me In Crankbaits, and on the jiggy side of things I like Rob Leighton from Demonic Custom Tackle. Builders is again a hard choice, but I am going to have to go with Lucky Lures for this one!
