business. It's so image-conscious,” Gabourey landed a lead role in the
Oscar-winning movie, Precious. She has also had recurring roles on The
Big C, American Dad, two seasons of American Horror Story, and now
plays Becky Williams on the runaway hit series, Empire. After gracing the
covers of V, Elle and Ebony magazines, as well as a spread in Harper’s
Bazaar, Sidibe is proving that big is beautiful, and her acting star is
undeniably on the rise.

Comedienne and actress who rose to fame as Nicole “Nikki” Parker
on the sitcom, The Parkers. The television show cast two plus-size,
African American women in leading roles as mother and daughter.
Her critically-acclaimed portrayal as the abusive Mary Jones in the
movie, Precious, earned her an Academy Award, as well as Golden
Globe, SAG, Critic’s Choice, and BAFTA awards.
