SPORT CURRO CASTLE AURORA BOOM CURRO CASTLE BRACKENFELL Egg-and-spoon race During the course of the September holidays there were lots of fun activities planned for the stars. One of these activities was the egg-and-spoon race. The stars thoroughly enjoyed the friendly competition amongst themselves and other classes. Some classes had their faces painted in their class colour, some had handmade pom-poms to help cheer on their friends and spirit chants could be heard all over the school. There was so much excitement and anticipation revolved around the race that some of the teachers and assistants opted to join in on the fun too! Sports day at the Castle is an annual highlight. This year, the sports day took place in April and all of the children and teachers participated and celebrated the theme of healthy living. Everyone enjoyed relay races of shopping for healthy foods, matching fruits and vegetables and recycling. Life skills were learnt, all while having fun. In August the Grade R children enjoyed a whole class rotation system of physical activities, encouraging teamwork as a class and in pairs. They explored various skills – bat and ball, hockey, tug of war and even rugby.
