CASTLE
WESTBROOK
Messy, but meaningful play
Groups 2 to 5 classes enjoyed a multisensory messy play session. They played with mud, water, glitter
shaving cream and pom-pom jelly. They also tasted squishy avocado and banana, sour lemon and
sweet strawberry.

Stimulating the senses
WILGEHEUWEL
The Castle had a sensory play week from 23 to 27 July 2018 and the children had an absolute blast discovering all the new
colours, textures, tastes, smells, and sounds.
Stimulating the senses helps children develop thinking, language, social-emotional, and physical skills. Through sensory play,
children explore and naturally use scientific processes while they play, investigate, create and discover new sensations.

Employees of
the future
The boys and girls at the Castle had so
much fun pretending what they would
like to be when they grow up! ‘When
I grow up, I would like to be a ...’ The
children also enjoyed an educational
talk about doctors. There are clearly
many different future occupations to
explore. Watch this space!
