769 | PHOTOGRAPHY I
Assignments include : portraits ; animals ; landscape ; action ; perspective ; lighting ; still life ; architecture ; photojournalism . Most assignments will be shot using an iPad . This course includes the exploration of iPad editing applications for photography and the creation of a digital photo blog , complete with written components .

770 | PHOTOGRAPHY II
Prerequisite : Photography I
In this course , students will demonstrate understanding about advanced photographic techniques , processes , and approaches while refining their ability to see and think visually . Some of the technical processes to be covered include : advanced printing and photo editing . Students will further develop visual skills through daily and weekly photo assignments , including the creation of a digital photo blog complete with supplemental writing . Assignments relating to documentary , fine art , and commercial applied photography will be completed . Students will begin to develop a portfolio of original photographs .

773 | PHOTOGRAPHY INDEPENDENT STUDY
Prerequisites : Photo II AND teacher recommendation
This course is a directed independent study in Photography . Students who sign up for this course will be self-motivated , with an intrinsic interest in Visual Arts . Students are working on specific mutually agreed-upon project ( s ), including portfolio pieces . Students will complete individual contracts with the instructor at the beginning of each quarter and check in weekly to monitor progress . This course can be repeated if appropriate .

775 | AP 2-D ART AND DESIGN
Prerequisites : 3 Studio / Photo Classes OR 2 Art Classes with continued attendance at Art Club , OR Portfolio ( transfer students ).
AP Art is a one-year elective course open to 11 or 12 grade students . It requires students to produce 15 high-quality pieces for submission to the AP Board , consisting of Quality / Breadth ( overall skills ) and Concentration ( focus area ) of their choice . Students should be prepared to : regularly use time outside of class to complete projects , maintain a design journal with daily entries , participate in weekly group critiques and written personal reflections , and create an on-line blog showcasing processes and revisions .
