MANIPULATIVES are physical objects puddle jumpers can touch, hold, and examine. The welcome package is your first shipment of materials, but it won't be the last! With each new subject being taught, we will send out a new box of learning materials. These include, but are not limited to: plastic cookies with numbers printed on the bottom and corresponding chocolate chips for math learning, lacing and tracing animals, music cds, colored films to be used in color theory, balancing bears, and more!
CHARTS are used in our classroom studio to re-inforce learning. If you would like to build your own classroom space and you like the way ours is set up, we are more than happy to send charts to your home! One free set of wall charts is encluded with your enrollment. At the end of each topic section, we sell our used charts at a greatly reduced price. It is a wonderful way for homeschoolers and distance learners to save!
Puddle Jumpers are our youngest students: age 3- 6. They are inquisitive, intelligent, and ready to learn! Most puddle jumpers also tend to be busy little people who are curious about the world around them.
New puddle jumpers will receive our Welcome to Gavin Academy package which includes: Their first issue of Clifford's Big World published by Scholastic Magazines, a tub of art tools and manipulatives, a music CD produced by Gavin Academy with all of their favorite songs, and their very own first shipment of worksheets. Most importantly, the materials come in a BIG BOX with instructions to make a robot, car, or house!
Parents can choose the pre-k/k course on the wiziq website, or in-person learning with a live teacher in our online classroom environment. Alternatively, homeschoolers can choose to have curriculum materials shipped to them.
Full time Academy students will have the benefit of teacher-taught classes and course videos supported by worksheets from recognized curriculum publishers whose work meets state and provincial curriculum standards. For pre-k and kindergarten learning, our materials come from Carson-Dellosa publishing.
