COMPUTER DESIGN AND REPAIR
(COP4)
This hardware-focused course teaches students the parts of a computer, how they work, why they are placed in their
given positions. Students will learn to fix minor issues, the importance of keeping a clean and dust-free CPU, the
basics of file recovery, part exchange or replacement, and hardware upgrade, including the dangers of upgrading
above a given system’s capacity. Students will learn the basics of servicing and maintaining a home or business
computer, creating a network, using a dual-screen system, and choosing components. Prerequisites: None.
