Several workshops reviewed the necessary steps for nominating a project for Target 5 Project Education 2022-2024 . When one listens to the presentations and sees the impact FAWCO has made , one knows that there are some dedicated , hard-working , and amazing women ( and men ) making it all happen — and we are thus happy to see that these people are also acknowledged with awards . The Circle of Honor Award is the highest award bestowed by FAWCO and was given to FAWCO counselor Sallie Chaballier ( AAWE Paris ) and FAWCO counselor My-Linh Kunst ( AWC Berlin ) this year . On the last day of the meetings , The FAWCO Foundation , the philanthropic arm of FAW- CO , announced the recipients of the 2022 FAWCO Foundation Education Awards and Development Grants . This was also a highlight of the meeting , as our member Brooke Viertel was given an Education Award for skills enhancement , and BOTH of our two nominations for Developmental Grants were awarded ! supported since 2011 , and aim to help tribal communities in Maharashtra , India .
Fortunately , the three-day meeting was not just business and workshops , but also the venue for the Foundation Night , “ Celebrate FAWCO , Fun , and Friendships .” Starting with a mesmerizing performance from Wim Vanlessen , formerly a principal dancer with the Royal Vlaamse Ballet , FAWCO delegates and participants celebrated a joyous evening together . Cheerful conversation with the Asianthemed dinner , a spirited and successful live auction , and enthusiastic dancing —“ a perfect release from a period of frustrating pandemic restrictions .” Over $ 47,700 was raised towards The FAWCO Foundation ‘ s Development Grants and Education Awards !
Twenty-five clubs were registered for the Interim Meeting , with 96 attendees — including six from AWC Hamburg . I was proud of how active our members are in the FAWCO network , serving on boards , supporting workshops , and just being helpful !
