Fun & Learning in Luxembourg Six AWCH Members Attended the Interim Meeting

We met dozens of FAWCO members from around the world . This group went sightseeing together .

FAWCO holds a meeting ( either a Biennial Conference or an Interim Meeting ) every year in March in a different city from around the world . Needless to say , the Interim Meeting scheduled for March 2020 in Luxembourg didn ’ t happen . Although the online platform proved quite successful for the virtual Biennial Conference in 2021 … there was clearly something missing .
When Luxembourg was rescheduled for the March 2022 Interim Meeting , things got shaky again . Solution ? Split it into Part One and Part Two .
As Jordan W ., our FAWCO representative , reported in the last Currents issue , Part One was a virtual meeting that highlighted the many achievements of FAWCO through its member clubs , kicked-off the introduction of the next Target Project , and had a special session to honor the 50 years of Education Awards and 25 years of Development Awards by the FAWCO Foundation .
Part Two was the real thing — and Luxembourg finally became a reality .
There is a lot going on at these meetings , which serve many purposes . First of all , it is an Annual General Meeting , and the business meeting gives everyone a great overview of the FAWCO Council workings and updates on FAWCO ’ s UN Advocacy , US Issues , and Global Team activities . There are also many innovative workshops , which are geared either toward club development ( e . g .,“ Tech for your Club ” by our Cat C . or “ Running a Club ”) or more personal interests ( e . g ., “ Stress Sense ” by our Anna S ., “ Finding Mindfulness through Art ,” or “ Fragrances for Challenging Times ”). Informative “ Face2Face ” sessions also give participants a chance to talk to the people running the different teams .
