A Colorful Archive of our Club

I have recently delved into the AWCH archives to discover the 40 + years of newsletters and Currents issues neatly tucked away in storage closets at DESY ( hats off to Becky T ., Shelly S ., and Tracy M .). It has been a fun and enlightening exercise . I was familiar with the digital copies on our website , often referring to them when I fell into the editor ’ s position in 2017 ( with the wonderful support of Ulrike Henn ), but I did not realize what a historical treasure these saved printed versions held .
What better way to archive the changes
but also continuity of the club and its members through the decades ? Surprisingly , almost all in black and white — but so colorful in their content !
One club continuity documented in the back issues is our valuable involvement with FAWCO . How proud we are of our many members who have served and continue to serve on the board and various committees for this important voice for overseas American and women ’ s rights .
Every issue includes a proofreading party at Abaton . This group includes editor Mason Jane M . ( second from right ) and former Currents editors Beatrice K ., Becky T ., and Carol H .
