AWCH Spring Brunch
C lose to 40 members welcomed the season at our Spring Brunch on April 19 .
We enjoyed a lovely sparkling wine reception with a buffet followed by a wide selection of desserts at the Horizon Restaurant at the Courtyard by Marriot . Nanci S . and Diana S . moderated the debut of our “ Spring Chicken ,” a compensation for our annual Holiday Party gift exchange that fell victim to COVID-19 . The small floral bouquets and potted plants brought by each member were exchanged in a fun Q & A session . An affirmative answer to one of the many questions gave a guest the opportunity to find their bouquet — or steal one from someone else . The biggest surprise ? Not just one but at least ten members jumped up when asked who had ridden a camel . And , yes , at least one of our members has been in the Peace Corps . And at least two members attended school in more than five countries . Attendees donated a large amount of clothes and supplies for Hanseatic Help to assist Ukrainian refugees . The day was filled with lots of surprises , chatter , and good fun .
