Currents November 2017 Globetrotter By: Max Edwards VERNAZZA, in the Cinque Terra Along the Ligurian Sea, south of Genoa and north of La Spezia, lies the Cinque Terra (CHINK-weh TAY-reh). These “five pieces of earth” are five ancient towns. Each is distinct, in character and dialect. All are wildly popular, deserving of Yogi Berra's hyper- bole: “Nobody goes there any- more.
