Why it was so important that the City had to call a
special election that the just the Supervisor of Elec-
tions portion will cost $234,459 plus other city
expenses which I estimate to be at least another one
to two hundred thousand dollars in precinct rents,
staff time and printing. Why spend $400,000 to
$500,000 of your money when the City could have
put this tax quesion on the November ballot for virtu-
ally free?
The bigger picture is that for the past many years
the city's budget has spent approximately 1/4 of a
Billion dollars a year ($266,000,000 this year). Why
did the City not manage your money so many
expenses that should have been foreseen were not
paid from normal annual tax revenues? How many
years has the City known bridges, infrastructure and
the pier were in need of repair and choose to do
nothing except short the employee's pension fund so
the Commission could spend more money on their
projects?
This Bond / Debt must be Stopped. Please
