The Commission maintains that no NW CRA and
Innovation Corridor projects will be eliminated from
current plans, thus effectively binding the City’s rev-
enue with the NW CRA’s revenue, which is estimated
to be cut in half by the Broward County decertifica-
tion; for project completions.
So, in an era when the NW CRA is in jeopardy of
losing access to half its funding, is it a prudent idea
to go into $100 million debt?
Or maybe it is great timing. The GO Bond monies
can be used to fund the planned
CRA projects, if the court judge-
ment goes against the City; the
blight can still be removed. With,
as the city proclaims, “current and
future residents and businesses
paying the bill.”
