than not, it’s just word of mouth.
I left the meeting with a bad taste in my mouth.
That guy kept trying to put words in my mouth, and
convince me that I should pay. Finally I told him to
put his money where his mouth is!
Brian was head over heels in love with Lucy.
Everybody knew that he was wearing his heart on
his sleeve. When she left him, she really broke his
heart. He’ll survive because nobody dies from a bro-
ken heart.
One of my grandmothers had a heart of gold,
while the other one had a heart of stone. As you get
older, it’s important to stay young at heart. Helping
others is good, but don’t become a bleeding heart.
If you see an alligator on the golf course, run
away as fast as your legs can carry you. You had
better shake a leg, or else you’ll be late to the meet-
ing with your boss. I don’t believe your story, so stop
pulling my leg. You didn’t buy a Ferrari because that
car costs an arm and a leg.
In difficult situations, always put your best foot for-
ward. If you want to succeed, sometimes you have to
get your feet wet. Be careful what you say when you
have a foot in both camps, otherwise you may end
up putting your foot in your mouth.
Finally be careful not to step on anyone’s toes. If
you don’t toe the line, you won’t get that promotion.
All the responsibilities of your new job will certainly
keep you on your toes.
