Strike A Pose For JAFCO
The Palm Aire and Wynmoor Friends of JAFCO
are working together again this year to create a fabu-
lous event to benefit the children of JAFCO. Strike a
Pose! will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2020
at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek. The event
will include a boutique, raffles, luncheon, JAFCO
presentation and a fashion show.
JAFCO is a non-profit organization, established in
1992 to serve abused and neglected children in
South Florida. In 2003 they built a residential cam-
pus, the JAFCO Children’s Village, with six group
homes and an emergency shelter. As a child welfare
agency, JAFCO helps all children in need and com-
municates the message that they are part of a larger
family, a community who will care for them… giving
every child a place to belong.
Five years ago, JAFCO opened the doors of their
Children’s Ability Center to provide services for fami-
lies raising children with developmental disabilities in
our community. Initially the center started with just a
handful of children and staff and now they serve over
400 families throughout the 36 innovative and cre-
ative programs offered each week.
In March, a wellness center called Eagles’ Haven
started assisting the Parkland/Coral Springs area
with their healing from the tragic shooting last year.
