Currents: Hosting in Hamburg & Hygge Year 2023/2024 Volume 39 Issue 4 | Page 9

• Activities : On average , the AWCH calendar includes an event for about half of the days of every year . Some of my favorites in 2023 were Tracy ’ s bunco fundraiser , Adrienne ’ s “ Learn to Row ” in the pouring rain , the pre-loved book sale at Michaela ’ s house , the US consulate ’ s “ Hamilton USA Night ,” luncheons with professional opera singers , and a cozy afternoon playing cribbage at my house with a couple of new friends !
And what will happen in 2024 ? My goal for this year is to focus on providing an excellent experience for all of our members . Last year included a lot of foundation building and networking , to ensure our club stays strong and relevant .
But it ’ s the members who make it vibrant , warm , effective , and fun . And we want to ensure your membership provides you with a positive experience ! We have some fun initiatives and activities in the works , so stay tuned …
I hope to see you at the Annual General Meeting on January 28 !
Warmly ,
Stephanie Matlock Allen AWCH president
