In 2010 the City of Pompano Beach became a
Certified Community Wildlife Habitat. It is the 42nd in
the country and largest city in Florida to receive this
honor, accomplished by an all-volunteer team con-
sisting of members of Pompano Proud, and our
Grow Wild! initiative.
More than 300 backyards have been declared as
Certified Wildlife Habitat sites. In addition, nine
parks, nine businesses and eleven school grounds
have been certified through the program.
The NWF mantra of providing Food, Water, Shel-
ter and Places to raise young is easy to do, and you
can certify your home or business by filling out an
application on-line at NWF.org.
