5 Things the SFPUC
Does to Prevent Pollution
1. We keep our storm drains clear of all debris so that they
function properly. .
2. We educate residents how they can use less toxic products
when gardening.
3. We collect used cooking oil for conversion to biofuel, and help
prevent sewer pipes from getting clogged with grease.
4. We collaborate and team up with Bay Area cities and counties on
pollution prevention practices and activities.
5. We have valuable resources to help prevent pollution at its source—
