FEATURED CONTRIBUTORS IN THIS ISSUE OF CURRENT PEDORTHICS Giuseppe Lombardo, C.Ped Giuseppe Lombardo, also known as Joe, is a certified pedorthist since 1996. He works with his sister Elsa, who were both initially taught the footwear business by their father. During the early part of the 20th century, the Lombardo’s great-grandfather, grandfather and uncles began making horse saddles and other leather items and then got into shoes. The skills and abilities were passed along from generation to generation. Initially from New York, their present shop is in central Florida. Prior to working as a C.Ped, Joe worked as a carpenter, and served with the military working on large jet aircraft. Soon, the family history of the footwear business called back to him. “Elsa and I are just one part of a group effort.
