When the leaves fall it’s time to get
your heating system serviced
Reduce your energy costs this winter by
having your heating system serviced by a
qualified dealer before the cold comes. Your
system will operate more efficiently, saving
you money. LES’ Energy Services specialists
suggest these other maintenance tips to help
you manage energy costs:
•
•
Check your furnace filter every month
and change or clean it as needed. The
easiest way to check your filter is to shine
a flashlight through it. If light shows
through, it’s clean. If not, it’s time to
replace that filter.
If you have a heat pump, visually check
the coil. Contact a qualified professional if
the coil needs to be cleaned.
• Vacuum indoor supply registers and
return air grills regularly. Make sure your
draperies and furniture are not blocking
air flow.
• Have a professional clean the heat
exchanger and blowing fan in your heating
system at least once a year. If applicable,
have them oil the motor.
