Service your heating system before fall
Reduce your energy costs this
winter by having your heating
system serviced by a qualified
dealer before cold weather
arrives. It’ll help your system
operate efficiently and assist you
in keeping operating costs at a
minimum. LES’ Energy Services
specialists suggest these other
maintenance tips to help you
manage energy costs:
• Check your furnace filter
every month and change or
clean it as needed. This will
help ensure proper airflow in
your home and the efficient
operation of your heating
system.
• If you have a heat pump, visually
check the coil. Contact a
qualified professional if the coil
needs to be cleaned.
• Vacuum indoor supply registers
and return air grills regularly.
Make sure your draperies and
furniture are not blocking the
airflow through these grills.
• At least once a year, have a
service professional clean the
heat exchanger and blower
fan in your heating system. If
applicable, have them oil the
motor.
Reacting to scammers
Utilities are often used as a
guise for scammers threatening
to disconnect customers’
service. They urge customers to
supply their credit or debit card
information, pay immediately with
cash or purchase different types
of payment cards to avoid losing
their power.
LES reminds customers that we
do not collect payments from
customers in person at their
homes or businesses, nor do
we call customers requesting
immediate payment. If you
think you’ve been contacted by
a scammer, do not give them
any information and contact law
enforcement immediately.

of your LES account by calling
