There is still time to get paid
to save
Take advantage of the financial incentives
available to help make your home and
business more energy efficient through
LES’ Sustainable Energy Program.
LES crews provide electricity safety demos in our community.
Play it safe
Power lines bring electricity from generating plants to our
communities and into our homes. They are a vital part of
the electrical transmission and distribution system — they
can also be dangerous. LES offers tips to keep you safe:
Stay away from downed power lines.
Always assume a downed power line is energized and
life-threatening. Keep children and pets away from
downed lines. Do not attempt to remove a person or
animal caught in power lines, and do not attempt to
remove tree limbs or any other object from a downed line.
Call 911 or 1-888-365-2412 for assistance. Warn others to
stay away.
If a power line falls on your vehicle:
1. Stay inside until help arrives.
2. Warn others not to touch the vehicle, and ask them to
call for help or use your cell phone.
3. If you must leave the vehicle due to a fire or other
life-threatening situation, jump out as far away as
possible with both feet landing together on the ground.
Thank you to all who provided
encouragement to LES
mutual aid crews while they
were restoring power
to parts of South Carolina
and Florida after Hurricane
Matthew hit the East Coast.
In addition to receiving a credit on your
contractor’s invoice at the time eligible
equipment or services are purchased, you
also may benefit from lower electric bills.
Consider upgrading your home’s sealing
and insulation. This cost-effective project
provides savings and comfort all year long.
That, paired with LES’ incentive program,
makes it an excellent way to scale down on
power usage while scaling up on savings.
Existing homes with no wall or minimal
attic insulation (R-19 or less) can qualify
for up to $1,000 in incentives to upgrade
insulation levels to current energy code
standards.
The other incentives offered:
• High-efficiency heat pump and
air conditioner
• Commercial and industrial
lighting retrofit
• Commercial and industrial
energy efficiency
