qualifications, experience and maturity.
The Accident Procedure
Know the post accident procedures. All Instructors must know what to do if something goes wrong. This is down to:
A good knowledge of the Red Book( JSP 535 – 2011)
Following the Incident & Accident reporting procedures laid down in JSP 535, LFSO 3202C which includes the requirements to report to AINC.
A sound and well communicated plan. Remember, its always good talking through some“ what if” scenarios with other members of the training your detachment or company team before an event.
Silva Compasses
On occasions, Cadets may use compasses some of which may contain small sources of radiation to provide illumination.
Serviceable Silva compasses are perfectly to be used by cadets as long as they are intact and not leaking. We manage the risk and control by cadet instructors only issuing serviceable compasses to cadets and also redeeming them that in the unlikely event of a breakage not to ingest any spent fluid directly or indirectly through hand contact.
