Towns of Italy

The most beautiful part of Italy is not in its most famous cities, such as Rome, Venice, or Milan, but rather it is found in the small towns that are spread throughout all corners of the country. They are places that show us the incredible natural landscapes and the beauty of classical architecture without the need to queue or the large crowds of tourists.

After visiting many towns in Italy, we must confess that it is practically impossible to find one that does not have a special charm. Small Italian towns are plentiful and rarely disappointing. Although, indeed, some always stand out more than others, either for their landscapes, architecture, or gastronomy.

Next, we leave you 4 of the Italian towns, which in our opinion, you cannot miss: Matera (where its houses carved into the rock served as the setting for the film "The Passion of the Christ"), Tropea (with one of the beaches most spectacular in all of Italy), Alberobello (with its Trulli, some very peculiar constructions, which form a gorgeous landscape) and San Gimignano (a town that in the Middle Ages was the New York of the time, having more than 50 towers, which made it have a spectacular skyline).

Lakes in Italy

Finally, within our recommendations to visit Italy, we could not leave out the Italian lakes. If there is something that stands out for its beauty, the lakes and all the towns are on their shores. The most crucial area in the northern part of the country is near the Alps, where the rains are most abundant.

Of all the options, two of them stand out. First Lago di Como, where many famous people have houses and a feeling of perfect peace is breathed for tourists who want to relax, highlighting the towns of Como and Varenna. The other option is Lago di Garda, with a heritage dating back to the ancient Roman Empire, with a visit to Sirmione and Garda being a must.

Italian Islands

The islands of Italy are a jewel of a country, rich in culture and natural beauty, and its islands represent much of its charm. We think of islands, endless beaches, escaping, or the perfect occasion to relax. The Italian islands offer us all this in addition to seductive cuisine and unique island landscapes. Italy has more than 450 islands, large and small, including sea and lakes.

If you wonder which island in Italy you should visit, we will show you the four best Italian islands. Here you can find the most beautiful corners of each of the Italian islands and enjoy that blue that is only found in the Mediterranean. You will also find information about each of them, but we will also recommend where to sleep and how you can get to them.

The islands we recommend are Sardinia, known for its beaches with crystal clear waters, Sicily, which has a tremendous cultural heritage dating back to the Roman Empire and Ancient Greece, Capri. On this island, much of the Italian jet-set is concentrated in summer and finally, Ischia, an island not so well known but where you will find beautiful corners and almost no tourists.
