The Bully
Julian Hirsch and Leon Berngruberl
This is the true story of
what happened in a school for
young men around 1570. The
school was in the monastery
of Heilsbronn.
After Reformation, when the
monastery was closed, there
were no more monks there, so
the Duke decided to use the
buildings for a school.
The school was open to boys
coming from poor families who
got the chance to get a good
education there. Then they
could become magistrates of
their duke, which was a very
respectable and well-paid
job.
in the former monastery in
Heilsbronn. The teachers were
very strict and there was
much to learn, but the boys
tolerated it because they
wanted to take their chance
and get a good job.
One of the boys, Tony, was
very strong and had many
friends. He liked to bully
Henry, a quiet boy who wasn’t
so strong and not as popular
as Tony.
Today my school caries the
name of this duke (Margrave
George Frederick School) and
follows the tradition of this
school.
But unfortunately bullying
has always been a problem in
schools and brings with it
terrible consequences.
Two boys with the name Henry
and Tony went to that school
