Olomouc
Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc was built in the 18th century to
celebrate the Catholic church and express gratitude for ending
a plague. It is the most outstanding example of a type of monument
specific to central Europe. It was made by Moravian artist Ondrej
Zahner in the characteristic regional style known as Olomouc
Baroque. It is decorated with many fine religious sculptures. It is 35
metres high. The column is highest sculptural group in Czech
Republic.
