Editor ’ s Note : I kept hearing about Randall and Debbie Shedd moving to an old house and after visiting them I asked them if they would share it with our readers !
By Randall Shedd

We live about half way from where we both grew up . Debbie grew up northwest of Welcome Church and I grew up east of Welcome Church at Baileyton .

Last year , we sold our house that we built in 1988 . Debbie said , “ What are going to do now ?” I said , “ We ’ ll have to do something !”
Something was , bought this house that was built by Debbie ’ s relatives around 1910 ( Jim Akin ) and we spent from May until December renovating the interior . Knocking out walls , new wiring and plumbing . Basically we played it by ear and did it like we wanted to . To fit us .
We tried to keep a good balance of old and new ! It feels like home ! The previous owners , Verbon and Helen Foster did a really good job of keeping it up , especially on the outside . But we wanted the interior a little bit different .
I love it all now , inside and out ! It ’ s built on one of the highest points around . Sunsets are beautiful !
I love the bushes and exterior landscapes ! Three big ‘ rose of Sharon ’ plants adorn the spring and summer .
In the fall and winter we love the huge “ Christmas bushes ” I call them - green holly and red berries . ( Thank you Verbon and Helen ).
