As I look forward to 2022 and the possible opportunities that it will bring , I must also reflect on my time for the last seven months here at COA . Everywhere I go I am asked how I like my new job . My answer is always the same …. I LOVE it here . I am grateful for the opportunity , encouragement and support that has been provided by Chairman Jeff Clemons and Commissioners Garry Marchman and Kerry Watson .

Within about three weeks of my start date , our senior centers were able to open the doors for congregate participation again . That had less to do with me and more to do with the timing of lifted restrictions by Governor Ivy . Sheriff Gentry and his staff helped us welcome everyone back with a cookout at each of the full time and part time centers . It took from June until September to make it out to every center , but we did it ! I truly enjoyed making it around to all the centers and meeting so many wonderful seniors throughout our great county . We are looking forward to our cookouts beginning again in March 2022 .
