Although 2020 proved to be a time when the world was in crisis , it was heartwarming to see the way our community responded .
The number of mutual aid efforts that sprung up and how neighbors helped each other was very encouraging . While we still cannot gather in person at the Senior Centers , we can — and will — come together to strengthen our connections during this time .
One thing that proved to be true as we reflect on the past year and move toward the new , the COVID-19 pandemic has shined a spotlight on how vital our local businesses truly are providing for the needs of our senior community .
Throughout the pandemic , we have seen so many businesses and organizations donate to make sure that the needs of our seniors are met , whether it is monetary , food , or otherwise .
Through these donations , the seniors in our community have still been able to participate in a variety of activities ( governed by social distancing methods and the willingness to make sure the seniors are taken care of even when the senior centers are closed ).
Let ’ s take a look through pictures of how seniors stayed active and supported during the course of 2020 ( and now in 2021 ) through the generosity of our community in the midst of a pandemic .
