Julie Hall is pictured with Belinda Cauley- Morris, who donated food to the Link recently. Paige Williams, Lead Encourager. She motivates, directs and advocates for Link neighbors. The Master’s Hands Food Pantry, open twice a week, is under her coordination and serves about 100 households per month. Paige also organizes all volunteers and sponsors of The Gathering Com- munity Meal that occurs each month at The Link. This meal is open to all members of the commu- nity and is a beautiful representation of neighbors gathering in unity. Finally, The Link’s Supervised Visitation pro- gram is coordinated by Carrie Woods, Family Support Advocate. Supervised visitations pro- vide a safe and monitored environment in which parents and children can visit one another. This program has seen families be restored, parent and child relationships strengthened, and custodial and non-custodial parties bridge together com- munication gaps. Hall says, “All of our programs and services have touched the lives of senior adults in our community. They have come to our Gathering Meal, visited the Food Pantry, or been assist- ed with finding resources. Maybe a child or grandchild has received services, thus impact- ing Seniors indirectly. They are also some of our most dedicated volunteers. We always have opportunities for seniors to serve in the office, at the community meal, or as a tutor and mentor. Anyone who is interested in volunteering can call the Link’s main office at 256-775-0028 for more information. We would love to have you!” The Link would like to highlight its partner- ship with NARCOG and the Senior Community Service Program. Thanks to this relationship, The Link has the pleasure of having Naomi Johnson at their facility 19 hours each week. She greets each and every neighbor as they enter and completes light administrative duties. Throughout her time at The Link, Johnson has become skilled at input- ting information into digital forms, copying and collating documents, and other office duties. She loves and encourages Link staff members along with every neighbor that she meets at The Link of Cullman County. Johnson says, “I am so blessed to work with these women of faith. I have been learning to type, make copies and to prepare folders for the students in the classes. “This is the best job I’ve ever had,” and her smile just shines. 708 9th Street SE Cullman, Alabama Call (256) 775-0028 [email protected] www.linkingcullman.org CULLMAN COUNTY SENIOR MAGAZINE SUMMER 2020 | 7
