WHY DOES IT SEEM HARDER TO LOSE
WEIGHT AS WE AGE?
Have you been
dieting but not
seeing the results
you expected?
Normal age-related
changes to your
body may be
sabotaging your
efforts.
So what is considered overweight and or obese?
Weight that is higher than what is considered as
a healthy weight for a given height is described as
overweight or obese. Body Mass Index, or BMI, is
used as a screening tool to determine if a patient
is overweight or obese. Determine your BMI by
utilizing the BMI Index Chart on page 38.
· If your BMI is less than 18.5, it falls within the
underweight range.
· If your BMI is 18.5 to <25, it falls within the
normal.
· If your BMI is 25.0 to <30, it falls within the
overweight range.
· If your BMI is 30.0 or higher, it falls within the
obese range.
