SHAPING YOUR FUTURE
The results of the 2020 Census will help
determine how billions of dollars in federal
funding flow into Alabama every year for
the next decade. That funding shapes every
community, no matter the size, no matter the
location.
Census results influence highway planning
and construction, as well as grants for local
communities and public transit.
Census results help determine how money
is allocated for the Head Start program and
for grants that support teachers and special
education. Funding for programs like school
lunches is also determined by census data.
The list goes on, including programs to
support rural areas, to prevent child abuse,
to prepare for emergencies and respond to
natural disasters. Data also helps drive funding
for housing assistance for older adults and
Medicare.
It is not too late to take your census and
shape your future and the future of our community
and state. Go to my2020census.gov,
call 844-330-2020 or mail in your paper questionnaire.
