In its 60 years serving students and north and central Alabama and beyond, Wallace State Community College has grown from a few buildings and dozens of students to more than 30 buildings on 300 acres and has reached a record enrollment of nearly 8,000 students.
Throughout those years, the college has adapted to meet the needs of the students, community and workforce by adding programs, building new facilities and working hand-in-hand with business and industry to make sure students are prepared to enter the workforce with the skills and training they need to succeed.
The college is currently moving forward on several major projects and initiatives designed to support students, strengthen academic programs and prepare the college for the future.
“ Wallace State is experiencing one of the most transformative periods in our history,” said Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics.
“ Our focus is simple: to remove barriers, expand opportunities and ensure every student has access to the programs, facilities and support they need to achieve their goals. These projects demonstrate our commitment to innovation, workforce development and the long-term success of the communities we serve.”
Wallace State’ s Machine Tool Technology program prepared Falkville’ s Jared Smith for his career at General Dynamics in Cullman.
