Infinity Ward also gave us an extended look at the latest entry into the COD franchise . Just as everyone was about to nod off , they quickly changed to a longer trailer for Modern Warfare Remastered which just about maintained attention . But the series clearly showed its age , amongst the more vibrant and creative experiences on offer .
We had two huge reveals in the form of a release date for The Last Guardian on 25 October 2016 and most surprising of all , Resident Evil 7 : Biohazard for 24 January next year . Not only is that quite soon , but in addition it was revealed the entire experience would be available to play in VR . The trailer could be seen taking inspiration directly from Kojima ’ s long mourned project PT with the character moving around a dark , foreboding house in first person complete with a brilliant atmosphere of dread . It seems the departure from run and gun titles of the past has finally been initiated and that PT was the sacrificial lamb in order for us to resurrect a dormant genre defining titan from its slumber .
The upcoming Play- Station VR was pushed hard at the conference , with over 50 titles set to be made available when the system launches on 13 October . Amongst them are stand outs such

as Star Wars X-Wing VR Mission and Batman : Arkham VR Experience . A trailer for a new Spider-man game developed by Insomniac Games was announced featuring what looked like the engaging platforming of Sunset Overdrive incorporated into it .
Last but by no means least , we witnessed the return of an icon with Hideo Kojima yelling ‘ I ’ m Back !’ whilst descending a staircase in true Elysian fashion . With him he brought the announcement of his first truly independent game since his departure from Konami . Entitled Death Stranding , it features a blubbering naked Norman Reedus surrounded by dead fish . He ’ s back alright .
