The Spirit Of Adventure Council of the Boy Scouts of America was founded with the goal to make Scouting thrive in
our towns and cities. On October 8-10, 2016 it is time to show the world that you and your unit has the Spirit Of
Adventure. On this weekend over 10,000 Scouts and leaders will gather on the banks of the Charles River for a
weekend of great Scouting. There are 250 activities for all Scouting programs (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers).
The even is open to the public giving thousands to chance to see Scouting in action.
Campsites will be provided along the banks of the Charles River. Troops and Crews are encouraged to campout for
the weekend bringing and preparing their own meals. Restroom and water facilities are provided. Concession stands
will be available onsite.
Cub Scouts attend the event as day visitors on Sunday. Webelos have the option to camp overnight with Troops that
host, and pre-register, them in advance.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
Hundreds of watercraft (canoes, kayaks, white water rafts, war canoes) on site for use in the
river.
Zip lines, monkey bridges, climbing poles, fishing, tomahawks- all kinds of cool Scout stuff.
Live entertainment on stage throughout the weekend, capped off with a fireworks display on
Sunday night.
The event is open to units from ANY Council, any state, any country. We do expect units from
England and Canada to attend.
It’s time to make plans to show the world how wicked cool
Scouting is in the Spirit of Adventure Council.
