Question: How does CTTA work to change laws and regulations that affect my business?
Answer:
Advocacy is an important pillar of our Association; it is one of the less visible benefits in the day to day lives of our members, but its "behind the scenes" nature does not negate its importance to our membership. When approaching changes to regulations or legislation, one voice may be lost in the noise, but many voices united can make themselves heard. This is why the Towing Regulatory Oversight Council was formed by the CTTA Board of Directors to act as the legislative voice of the membership and the industry at large.
When issues arise that present a concern to the industry, the T-ROC can use their voice to interact with the various agencies and branches of government involved in the creation of legislation to ensure that the interests of the towing industry are represented and acknowledged. Most recently, the T-ROC acheived a legislative victory with the removal of an offensive towing provision in AB 2586, which you can read about in more detail on page 2.
