TRANSFORMER WORKSHOP The Transformer Workshop class is designed to simplify the complex concept of why and how singlephase transformers work when banked together. This class will teach troubleshooting customer voltage issues related to the wye / delta and wye / wye transformer banks and introduce the construction and troubleshooting of single-phase and threephase transformer settings in a hands-on lab.
This class will explain step by step how to build and understand electrical vectors. Learning electrical vectors will promote the efficiency and safety of the Line Technician banking single-phase transformers and helps the Line Technician diagnose and troubleshoot customer voltage issues. Understanding electrical vectors are crucial for the proper wiring of three-phase meters.
This class is designed for Line Technicians, Line Foreman, Line Supervisors, Meter Technicians, Safety Trainers, and those who would like to understand better single-phase transformers and three-phase transformer settings.
This course is approved by the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services( DSPS) for continuing educations.

UNDERSTANDING SUBSTATION DRAWINGS
Students will learn common substation equipment symbols, and the ANSI numbering system for substation control devices. This will be applied to developing an understanding of One-Line and Three-Line drawings of actual substations and control circuits. Students are encouraged to bring substation and control drawings to class.

VOLTAGE REGULATORS Students will learn the requirements for voltage regulation, components, and how step voltage regulators operate.
In this training you will learn:
• Program and install voltage regulator controls
• Troubleshoot voltage regulators and voltage regulation problems
• Bypass voltage regulators for removal or replacement

TROUBLESHOOTING RESIDENTIAL SERVICE
The trouble shooting workshop class is designed to help technicians trouble shoot residential services. This class will focus on no power, half power, low voltage and open neutral scenarios. With the eight-house trouble shooting lab, the students will get a hands on training experience. Customer service will also be addressed in the class. This class is designed for those who would like to have a better understanding on trouble shooting residential services. Line Technicians, Line Foreman, Line Supervisors, Meter Technicians and Safety Trainers are encouraged to attend this workshop.
This course is approved by the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services( DSPS) for continuing educations.

RECLOSERS
Students will learn the operating principles of Cooper Power Systems type W & VWE three phase oil circuit reclosers and the three phase, independent pole operation, Viper ST from G & W Electric. The VWE and Viper reclosers will be paired with Eaton Form 6 and SEL 651R recloser controls. Students will gain an understanding of the function and operation of front panel controls and LED indicators. Fault simulation is used to study recloser response to various levels of fault current and recloser operating modes.
