Ergonomics for Dental
Hours of a day can pass in which you are holding certain postures
and performing repetitive hand and shoulder movements. The
postures and movements that are routinely used can begin to
contribute to pain. Pain can lead to the decreased ability to work,
perform leisure activities and affect your career. Even if these
movements are small and light in force. The neck, shoulder, elbow,
wrist, hand, low back, mid back, anterior hip and others are all
areas at high risk for pain.
This course is designed to consider the ergonomics and body
mechanics of dental professionals and how to decrease the
chance for pain through changing work movements and the
work environment.
