Read on for a small taste of what you can expect if you attend the 2015 event. The event was “Paul Casey’s Las Vegas 2014 Car Stars,” billed as the world’s greatest celebration of movie and TV cars. Paul Casey is the owner of “Paul Casey Productions LLC” in Las Vegas and is well known in the Las Vegas entertainment scene. For years Paul has hosted this spectacular event in Las Vegas which helps raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. This event was Paul’s mission to recognize star car owners and how they support the movie and television industry both past and present. This is an open event which allows the public a chance to meet movie and television stars, see the cars or other vehicles from their favorite movies or shows and a chance to talk to the owners of the vehicles. Owners of different vehicles came from all over the world with their vehicles. This year the furthest was from Italy, with his version of the famous 80’s television show “Knight Rider” KITT 2000. The event started on Thursday, May 15th with a private VIP party for car owners and celebrities at the Plaza Resort and Casino. This hotel/casino was significant to the event because it served as the backdrop for “Biff’s” Casino in the movie “Back to the Future II”. On Friday May 16th a parade down the Las Vegas Strip from the famous Las Vegas sign to the famous Freemont Street and the Freemont Street Experience. The parade route was lined with cheering fans who couldn’t believe the long line of movie and television cars, as well as celebrities in convertibles. The parade ended up at the famous Freemont Street where the vehicles were put on display for the public. On Saturday the cars were introduced one by one on Freemont Street along with the introduction of celebrities by Paul Casey at the center stage. The event then proceeded into a beautiful ceremony where a number of star car owners renewed their wedding vows in front of the stage, with a Las Vegas area minister officiating. A few of the stars and celebrities present were actors Michelle Nichols (Star Trek), Claudia Wells (Back to the Future), Sean Kenny (Capt. Pike from Star Trek), Donald Fullilove (Back to the Future), Christopher Doohan (Star Trek movie), movie special effects icon Kevin Pike, and automotive icons Gene Winfield, George Barris, “Blackie” Gejeian, Gary “Mr Bubbles” Reid, and “Movie“ Mike Walsh. Other VIP’s were Las Vegas Mayor, the Honorable Carolyn Goodman, the former Mayor, the Honorable Oscar Goodman, and Doctor Nicola Longo. This year also saw the presentation of the 2014 Visionary Award. The honorees were Michelle Nichols and posthumously James Doohan (accepted by his son Christopher) for their ground breaking work in the series Star Trek. All in all it was a wonderful weekend filled with stars, cars and thousands of fans for a very worthy cause.
