About Steve:
“I went to high school in Texas then college at NAU (Northern Arizona University) in Flagstaff. I
have been married too many times and have two fantastic sons by my first wife. I am a semiretired fishing boat captain from the Texas Gulf Coast, who , because of a physical problem with
my leg as a result of a bungled hip replacement, has begun selling his shark tooth collection. I
have collected shark teeth for about 56 years—since I was 7—and have over 5000 in my
collection. I began making necklaces out of them and selling them about a year ago when I found I
couldn’t go back on the boats with the nerve damage to my leg. Just as a natural progression I
began making other types of jewelry and branched out into coral, turquoise, and other semiprecious gemstones. I hope to one day get back to fishing for a living but I guess that’s in God’s
hands now.”
While covering special events in Simi Valley I often cross paths with Steve selling his wares. His specialty niche is shark
teeth of all shapes and sizes, including some fantastic ancient specimens. His collection is a connoisseur's and
collector's dream. They can be purchased individually, in lots or as custom made jewelry pieces.
Besides shark teeth, Steve also creates and sells custom made jewelry from coral,
turquoise, shells, fossils and semi-precious stones, as well as modern arrowhead
pieces.
Since the June issue is themed around the ocean and seaside Steve's collection was
an obvious and perfect choice for inclusion. His jewelry would make a perfect
addition to any summer-time wardrobe.
If you see anything you are interested in purchasing please contact Steve directly, or
