Considering that the focus of this issue is to promote artists from all 50 States, we would be remiss if we failed to throw in some
other decorating ideas that not only help you to add a unique and personal touch to your home, but also promotes your favorite
artists.
Many artists, like those featured in this issue, have portfolios online at sites where you can not only purchase their art as prints and
cards, but also as pillows, duvet/bed covers, cups, clocks, ceramic tiles and wall tapestries. Just imagine the possibilities this offers
for a truly unique and inspired look for your home!
Or, if you prefer, let your imagination run wild with your own ideas. Seek out vintage postcards, the majority of which no longer
hold copyrights, if they ever did in the first place. Use your scanner to scan a piece of antique fabric, or photograph your own
artwork. With today's technology you are only limited by the boundaries of your own imagination.
Below are examples from one of editor Cindy Nunn's home décor portfolios. For this set she used a vintage postcard that she
purchased at a local antique store. The image on the left is of a duvet/bed cover, center image is a throw pillow and image on the
right is a framed print. The full set can be viewed (and purchased) at the following link: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/art-decoflapper-cindy-nunn.html
So, where can you purchase the work of other artists, or upload your own, for a personalized décor touch to your home? The
following sites are a good starting place:
Fine Art America: This is the main site where you will find most, if not all, of our featured artists. http://fineartamerica.com/
Society6: Like Fine Art America, Society6 offers duvet covers, pillows and art prints. They also offer wall tapestries, rugs, clocks
and shower curtains. http://society6.com/
RedBubble: Offers the standard fare of cups, throw pillows and duvet covers, as well as art prints. http://www.redbubble.com/
Zazzle: Kind of a one-stop shop for everything from cups and hats to jigsaw puzzles and paper plates. A great resource for general
personalized items or for buying from members who have online stores. http://www.zazzle.com/
CafePress: Pretty much the same description as Zazzle. http://www.cafepress.com/
Feeling really creative? How about using your own art on an item of clothing, like a dress or swimsuit?
ArtsCow: Dresses, skirts, lingerie, swimsuits, and lots of other wearable items that you can custom design with your own art.
