Carlos “Los” Elliott
Expressionist Artist – Ventura County, California
Carlos is a remarkable artist, with a style that is unique and fresh. He has also been able to stay well under the radar, which is
surprising since we live in a fairly small town, at least by Southern California standards. I was introduced to his wonderfully
fanciful and evocative talent quite by chance when I met his lovely wife Camille in a Facebook group. We went from talking
about the paranormal to becoming better acquainted on a more personal level when we found we had other things in common,
like work (real estate), and certain political views, which led in to a discussion of Eye on Fine Art Photography magazine. The
rest is history, as they say.
I am always amazed to come across ordinary people, working ordinary jobs, who have an extraordinary artistic talent, which is
sadly quite often hidden from the rest of the world. Carlos is one of those artists. To say that his art literally pops off the canvas
would be a huge understatement. For many years my tastes in art were pretty mainstream and conservative. That all changed
when, along with my business partner Tommy, I started Eye on Fine Art Photography magazine, which opened up my horizons
in art appreciation. The point is, back then I wouldn't have given Carlos' art a second glance, not because it wasn't aesthetically
pleasing, but simply because it wasn't “my style.” I wasn't artistically mature enough to appreciate his special style of
creativity. Things have changed, drastically From the moment I saw his vibrantly colorful 3D multi-canvas creations, painted
with oil and pastels, I fell instantly and unabashedly in love, and I wanted to share them so that our readers could also fall in
love with them. It is rare that I fall so hard, but the art of Carlos Elliott has stolen my heart and has unlocked a deep desire
within to discover my own hidden depths of wild, fantastic creativity. He is an inspiration, and I hope he inspires you as well.
I highly recommend a visit to his Facebook page, Los 59 Art, where you can keep up to date with any new artwork he
produces and shares. https://www.facebook.com/los59art
