CSM: This is your feature debut to be on Center Stage Magazine, what is the experience like when you are in- cluded in our roster for 2019’s game-changer issue? ROXANNE: I was shocked to be in this line up. There are so many beautiful women out there. I am honored. CSM: What do you think makes Center Stage Magazine stand-out or makes it unique in other publications around the globe? ROXANNE: Center Stage Magazine currently offers un- published models opportunities that may not have been given before. You are also showcasing hard work & dedi- cation to the fitness industry. CSM: What are the duties and responsibilities that entail to your current profession or career? ROXANNE: I currently have two jobs. I have been with Star Concrete Pumpers Inc. for 18 years. I am the man- ager and original employee from startup. My husband and I also own a small personal training studio, called FIT2 Geaux in my hometown of Sulphur, LA. As a Per- sonal trainer there, I help my clients achieve their fitness goals while motivating each one of them to live a happier, healthier lifestyle. At Star Concrete Pumpers, my responsibilities are to oversee the everyday function of the concrete company and to ensure our Customers needs are met. CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is about going for game-changing results in careers and individuality and inspiring people (being a beacon of inspiration); describe how did you exude your game-changing excellence and confidence in your career and what did you do to push that boundaries ROXANNE: With the Concrete pumping business, I have excelled in meeting, and keeping relationships with any and all our customers that I meet. I have made a lot of friends/acquaintances in this business. I work daily with my fellow employees, & owners to bring this company to its fullest potential. As a trainer, I always encourage and motivate each indi- vidual that I meet/train. If I am not confident in my job, then they would not trust me to help them in their fitness goals. By living a healthy lifestyle, I try to inspire others to be the best that they can be. I always accept new chal- lenges by seeing the opportunity in each one I strive to be a good role model for my co-workers, so that they can reach their maximum potential. I always do my best and to treat people just as I would want to be treated. CSM: Being assertive and attentive is required for this profession. Have you ever made or encountered difficult decisions? How did you manage that? ROXANNE: Yes, when you have clients that don’t like to be pushed, & or question the program, it can tend to put a damper on the training session. I just push through it and explain to them that hard work is required. I use my skills daily to be the best trainer & motivator for them all. CSM: How do you handle the situation if people get in- timidated by you and your work? ROXANNE: I want people to feel that their goals are achievable. I make myself available to them any time and by setting the right example, I hope to encourage others as well. I believe that open communication is necessary for those around you to know that what I have achieved is also possible for each of them. CSM: What game-changing results do you look forward this year? ROXANNE: I plan to bring my strength level to new heights this year. I know it will be hard work, but I am willing to put in the time and work needed. I read a line somewhere once that said “Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are to your comfort zone. CSM: Describe the person who made an impact in your life and how that is significant. ROXANNE: One of my best friends Tracy. She is a per- sonal trainer whom I hired many years ago to help me with my fitness goals. She taught me everything that I know when it comes to exercise. Its significate, because if I did not have her teaching me, motivating me, training me, I would never have become a trainer myself. She is not only beautiful, but she is a phenomenal trainer. I al- ways say when I grow up, I want to be just like her. We are the same age, but she is much wiser than me in the fitness industry. CSM: How do you set goals for yourself? ROXANNE: I start with telling someone. Normally its my husband, my friends/trainer. Then on some occasions I write it down. I plan my steps and then I Go FOR IT. CSM: What exactly motivates you to be a game-changer and how do you do it? ROXANNE: I think it comes down to just doing what makes you happy & be positive while doing so. If some- one sees me doing something positive, then hopefully they will follow suit. Work ethic is what I use to achieve my goals. CSM: Describe the true nature of being sexy and an eye- catching individual. ROXANNE: For me it’s a feeling and being confident with those feelings. If I feel sexy, then I will exude sexy. I think you should al- ways take care of yourself, your body. You only have one body and one life to live. So, take care of what you have been given. I never thought of myself as an “eye catching Individual” especially 20 year ago. Fast forward to today, 60lbs lighter, with lean muscle, confidence that I lacked previously and now published in a fitness magazine. That to me is eye catching. CSM: The industry you are in right now is very fast-paced, full of competition and full of talent and unavoidable poli- tics at times. What makes you stand out and how do you keep up with talented people around you? ROXANNE: My personality & my ability to give to oth- ers so freely is what makes me stand out.. I have lived my life helping others. I do not try to keep up with anyone, rather I set personal goals which keep me continuously pushing myself to the next level. I get up every morning and know that today is a day that I may help someone and in order to do so, I must take care of myself, and have good energy. I surround myself with positive influences which help keep my mind on track. I am always up for learning and the best way for me to learn is to DO. Work- ing out, training with other talented trainers will always push me to do better. CSM: Work-wise, what does it take to be successful in this type of profession? ROXANNE: Hard work. Hard work and more hard work. Being mentally and physically strong allows me to be the hardest working version of me that I can be. CSM: What is your great advice to those who will venture this kind of work? ROXANNE: Don’t give up. Especially when you get tired and think that you are not making a difference. Keep go- ing. CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your magic wand, where do you see yourself ten years from now? ROXANNE: Successful Personal trainer who continues to help others meet their goals. Continuously improving my skill set in order to help others. Being busy with my grandchildren, & traveling the world with my husband.
