CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or updated for latest trends and information in healthy living or lifestyle? NOÉ: Newspaper, specialized websites and books, studies, social networks…I do not neglect any way to acquire new knowledge in relation to nutrition science and physical activity. CSM: How important is food and nutrition to you as a model, athlete or as an individual? NOÉ: In my opinion, food is the basis of any physical progress. Having a healthy lifestyle is essential for an athlete or any individual. CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in maintaining your figure or shape. NOÉ: To maintain a good shape, it is crucial to practice a strong daily physical activity, as well as having an optimal diet. CSM: What are your ideas about non-organic food ver- sus organic? NOÉ: It is not mandatory to eat 100% organic. Howev- er, this kind of food provides significantly higher nutri- tional values than industrial food (which is, most of the time, of poor quality). That’s why organic food is logi- cally recommended (but requires a substantial budget for low-income households). I believe that we should do the best we can in function of our incomes. CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus a vegan diet? NOÉ: Even I am a great meat-eater, my meals some- times include vegan cooking. This food lifestyle in- cludes good nutritional values, and some essential nu- trients, such as plant proteins, which can be very useful for our organism. CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat? NOÉ: My daily meals are mainly made up of proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. Regarding proteins, I usually eat white meat, eggs, 5% fat steaks, cottage cheese and soy. My favourite sources of carbohydrates are rice, wheat, quinoa and sweet potatoes. As regards the lip- ids, I mainly eat almonds, nuts and avocados. I do not forget to add a fairly large volume of vegetables to each of my meals. CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are really necessary? Why is that? NOÉ: Personally, I do not apply any nutritional plan- ning to myself. However, this kind of program can be really helpful for athletes in competition and for people who are trying to gain/loose weight. CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are you aiming now? NOÉ: My only goal is to maintain an athletic physique all year long, so that I can be ready to respond to each solicitation I might receive. CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and lifestyle advisers out in the market already, what are the factors that people should take into consideration when hiring a personal trainer or online coaches or maybe investing some time and money to them? NOÉ: Having recourse to a personal coach is not a guarantee of success. A strong mind cannot be bought, you have to forge it every single day : here is my motto ! NOÉ: I would encourage people, especially children, to have a healthy lifestyle, to avoid processed food and to practise a sport on a daily basis. I would recommend some simple exercises and a weekly healthy food plan. CSM: A lot of your followers are curious to know these, if there’s any food and beverage that you cannot resist what would that be and why? NOÉ: Honestly, when I allow myself a “cheat meal “, burgers or pizzas are part of my favourites options. As regards beverages, a good coke will do the job ! CSM: Any advice to individuals who wants to gain weight and lean muscle? Advise to people who want to lose weight and be sexy? NOÉ: For people who would like to gain muscle mass, I would firstly advise to increase their carbohydrate intake at each meal, as well as their daily calories. It must obviously be coupled with a specific daily train- ing, in order to gradually gain weight and lean muscle. For people who would like to lose weight, it would be recommended to have higher energy expenditure than their calories intake, in order to gradually lose fat mass. Reduce carbohydrates, firstly at the evening meal, would be a great beginning for those who want to sharpen their silhouette.
