CSM: This is your feature debut to be on Center Stage Magazine, what is the experience like when you are included in our roster for 2019’s game-changer is- sue? KACY: What an honor and privilege to be requested as a feature debut, especially as an unpublished ath- lete. CSM: What do you think makes Center Stage Maga- zine stand-out or makes it unique in other publica- tions around the globe? KACY: CSM highlights athletes in their specific ar- eas of knowledge and expertise and dives in to their world with interview questions allowing the readers to connect on a real level. CSM: What are the duties and responsibilities that entail to your current profession or career? KACY: I’m a medical board certified physical thera- pist licensed to practice in Oklahoma. I spent 9 years in outpatient orthopedics but recently transitioned to home health care. I’m responsible for evaluating impairments and functional deficits in each patient and devising a plan of care specific to each patient; coordinating care with my assistants to optimize pa- tient outcomes and success. I assist with education on medications, fall prevention strategies, manual therapy techniques and the use of various modali- ties like kinesiotaping and dry needling to modulate chronic pain. CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is about going for game-changing results in careers and individuality and inspiring people (being a beacon of inspiration); describe how did you exude your game-changing ex- cellence and confidence in your career and what did you do to push that boundaries KACY: Game-changing excellence and confidence means going the extra mile to ensure each patient understands their bodies and what to expect from a rehab process. Making sure they have confidence in my skills, abilities, and plan set in place for them. Making sure my knowledge is current by researching and keeping up to date on all my continuing educa- tion courses. CSM: Being assertive and attentive is required for this profession. Have you ever made or encountered difficult decisions? How did you manage that? KACY: Often; listen first, process, and then respond once all information is gathered. CSM: How do you handle the situation if people get intimidated by you and your work? KACY: Humility and understanding, opening up and listening CSM: What game-changing results do you look for- ward this year? KACY: Finding a good work/life balance and restor- ing my comfortable physique CSM: Describe the person who made an impact in your life and how that is significant. KACY: My grandparents, mama and papa as I call them, raised me and gave me an opportunity at life and success I may not have been afforded had they not taken me as a young child. CSM: How do you set goals for yourself? KACY: I determine realistic goals and establish a deadline, with a timeline to help keep me account- able to the ultimate goal. CSM: What exactly motivates you to be a game- changer and how do you do it? KACY: Exemplifying individuality to become my best version experience after experience whether it’s in fitness or my career. Treating every person as the special human they are that God created... as we are all equals in His eye. CSM: Describe the true nature of being sexy and an eye-catching individual. KACY: This is highly variable based on the individ- ual judging. An attractive exterior often showcases a heart full of self love and care CSM: The industry you are in right now is very fast- paced, full of competition and full of talent and un- avoidable politics at times. What makes you stand out and how do you keep up with talented people around you? KACY: I’ve been in and out of the bodybuilding scene. It is highly competitive for those who seek it as a career. For myself, I have a very gratifying and successful career outside of fitness so I don’t strive to compete with top level fitness athletes. Rather, I look to them for inspiration and motivation to keep myself going and accountable. CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your magic wand, where do you see yourself ten years from now? KACY: Hopefully, maintaining my best physique, as long as I can. Happily married, successful in my career as a physical therapist, and living a Christ- centered life.
