ON FITNESS AND ON HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or updated for latest trends and informa- tion in healthy living or lifestyle? HEATHER: I keep myself updated using so- cial media and online magazines, doesn’t ev- eryone? CSM: How important is food and nutri- tion to you as a model, athlete or as an in- dividual? HEATHER: Healthy food at least 75-80% of the time has always been important to me. As a mom it’s one of my goals to make sure my little one has a healthy diet too. CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in maintaining your figure or shape. HEATHER: Consistency is key, consistent workouts and a healthy diet. CSM: What are your ideas about non-or- ganic food versus organic? HEATHER: I love the idea of organic food and would eventually love to have my own garden one day but for now I use non organ- ic. CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus a vegan diet? HEATHER: I prefer a balanced diet but if I was going to choose one I would choose veg- an. A vegan diet does appeal to me but I’m not ready to make that kind of commitment at this time. CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat? HEATHER: I like to eat a balanced healthy diet of protein, veggies and carbs. I typically don’t eat much fruit and I like to sneak in na- chos when I can. Nachos are a food group right? CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are really necessary? Why is that? HEATHER: I think customized meal plans are great for anyone that needs guidance. I used customized meal plans for a couple years but at this point I know my body well enough to use what I’ve learned to make my own meal plans. CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are you aiming now? HEATHER: My fitness goal at this point is to maintain my healthy lifestyle but not to miss out on important times with family. I plan to stay in the gym and continue to stay fit. CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and lifestyle advisers out in the market already, what are the factors that people should take into consideration when hiring a personal trainer or online coaches or maybe invest- ing some time and money to them? HEATHER: First, make sure that this is something that you can commit to 100 per- cent. It’s not going to do you any good unless you can make yourself a priority. Second, find someone that understands your goals and that you can communicate well with. CSM: As a fitness and health enthusiast, what are the essential exercises you have to do? Why is that? HEATHER: Any exercise to work on my legs and butt. I tend to hold fat in that area so I know I have to always work those areas so things don’t get out of control. My essential exercises for those areas are the leg press, hamstring curls, jump squats, sumo squats, and one legged dead lifts. CSM: Do you have any gym etiquette ad- vice for other people? HEATHER: Wipe down your sweaty ma- chine. CSM: Fact or myth? Does working out dai- ly improve one’s sexual stamina or prow- ess during sexual activity? Why do you say so? HEATHER: Fact! Anything you do that can build confidence within yourself, especially your physical appearance, will unleash a lit- tle extra sass. CSM: Fact or myth? Does living a healthy lifestyle keeps you happy and young? Why is that? HEATHER: Fact. I notice a difference with- in myself when I am living a healthy lifestyle. My skin looks better/younger and it keeps away that sluggish feeling you can get from eating junk and sitting still.
