PERSONALITY
AND IN-DEPTH PERSONALITY
CSM: This is your feature debut to be on
Center Stage Magazine, what is the expe-
rience like when you are included in our
roster for 2019’s game-changer issue?
HEATHER: I am excited and honored to be
a part of this Center Stage Magazine issue. I
have been featured before but this time I am
fortunate enough to be on the cover which
makes this even more exciting. I am so thank-
ful for this opportunity.
CSM: What do you think makes Cen-
ter Stage Magazine stand-out or makes it
unique in other publications around the
globe?
HEATHER: Center Stage Magazine is
unique because it features women and men
from all over the world from all walks of life.
I like that each person chosen to be a part of
this magazine is able to express their individ-
uality and the readers are able to get to know
each person featured.
CSM: What are the duties and responsi-
bilities that entail to your current profes-
sion or career?
HEATHER: As a Dental Hygienist I am re-
sponsible for helping my patients maintain
good oral health by educating them and clini-
cally removing plaque to reveal a sparkling
white smile.
CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is
about going for game-changing results in
careers and individuality and inspiring
people (being a beacon of inspiration);
describe how did you exude your game-
changing excellence and confidence in your
career and what did you do to push that
boundaries
HEATHER: At this time I have been work-
ing as a Dental Hygienist for 8 years. After
8 years in my career I can say I feel com-
pletely confident and enjoy my career. Dental
Hygiene school wasn’t easy for me when it
came to the clinic portion. There were a lot
of tears and stressful days. I had to get in the
field, make some mistakes and work hard to
get to the point I’m at now. I think because
I struggled in school it forced me to work
harder to succeed, it wasn’t something that
just came naturally. I’m confident now and
proved to myself that working hard will show
great results.
CSM: Being assertive and attentive is re-
quired for this profession. Have you ever
made or encountered difficult decisions?
How did you manage that?
HEATHER: I make difficult decisions daily.
It’s up to me to decide which treatment is best
for each patient even though we may not al-
ways completely agree. Effective communica-
tion plays a huge role during these situations.
If I am able to clearly express what’s needed
and be attentive to the patient needs it usually
works out well.
CSM: How do you handle the situation if
people get intimidated by you and your
work?
HEATHER: Honestly, I don’t think people
don’t get intimidated by me and my work. If
they were to get intimidated they would have
to handle that on their own. My goal is to
do the best that I can and if that intimidates
someone, that’s unfortunate.
CSM: What game-changing results do you
look forward this year?
HEATHER: One of my goals when I started
competing in fitness competitions 4 years ago
was to eventually land a cover on a magazine
and now it has happened. Being featured in
this magazine is a game-changing result I’m
looking forward to this year! I also look for-
ward to continuing to excel in my career while
balancing my family life. All while maintain-
ing a healthy and active lifestyle.
CSM: Describe the person who made an
impact in your life and how that is signifi-
cant.
HEATHER: My mother made a big impact
on my life. I watched her grow into an edu-
cated career driven women when she started
from nothing. Her ability to have a family,
work full time and complete her nursing de-
gree let me know that with hard work any-
thing is possible.
CSM: How do you set goals for yourself?
HEATHER: I set all types of goals for my-
self, short term, end of year and even 5 year
goals. I decide what important tasks I want
to accomplish and set a goal. I am really dis-
ciplined and setting goals keeps me focused
on reaching it and following through until the
end.
